- Our Housing Crisis
Affordable Housing in Nevada is Vanishing.
More than 8 out of 10 Nevada households are unable to afford the median price of a new home.
As costs continue to rise, hardworking families are struggling to make ends meet and the dream of homeownership, once attainable for many, is now slipping further out of reach.
The housing crisis also takes a toll on renters, with
more than half of Nevada renters being “cost-burdened,”
meaning they spend over 30% of their income on rent and utilities. This ongoing affordability crisis is impacting everyone in the state.
- Key issues
What Makes Housing so
Expensive in Nevada?
What Makes Housing so Expensive in Nevada?
- Nevada Lawmakers:
Urge Congress and the President to release federally managed land for more housing.
85% of Nevada’s land is federally managed, which severely limits the space available for building the homes we need.
This lack of land is driving up housing costs and making our affordability crisis even worse.
Carson City lawmakers can provide relief by urging Congress and the President to prioritize the release of federally managed land for new housing. By unlocking this land, we can build the homes needed to meet the rising demand.

- Our Coalition
Fighting for Housing Affordability Since 2019.
We are Nevada Housing Now.
We represent a coalition of more than 8,000 homeowners, renters and homebuilding professionals and organizations
that recognize Nevada has an affordable housing crisis.
For more than six years, we have educated lawmakers on the positive economic benefits of the homebuilding industry and advocated for policies to help keep housing costs down.
